African Reptile Park Volunteer
Perfect for anyone who is passionate about reptiles and arachnids; get hands on with a wide range of species!
During your placement you will be actively involved in working with a variety of reptile species, from Black and Green Mambas, Rock Pythons, and Vipers to Baboon Spiders, Scorpions and the rare Leopard Tortoise. |

Volunteer RoleYour working day will vary considerably from carrying out vivisections, rescues to design, construction and cleaning of enclosures and showing tourists aroung the park. You'll help with a range of activities including capturing problem animals from surrounding farms and going into the bush to help with reptile, amphibian and arachnid related research. As well as this you will be locating habitat and assessing the chosen areas for the release of animals.
You can also attend a ranger course, learn how to handle snakes and other reptiles safely and participate in animal feeding sessions and demonstrations.
Project LocationHoedspruit, Limpopo Province, South Africa
Accommodation and MealsWooden lodges within the park grounds. There is a kitchen, lounge/dining area with T.V. /DVD, bathroom and one bedroom to share with another volunteer. You'll be taken to do your weekly food shopping and you can prepare your own meals with other volunteers.
