Western Wonder- 7 days

This tour is a quick taste of the western USA. We visit the area’s two most important national parks, Yosemite and the Grand Canyon, the incomparable Las Vegas, and the desert splendour of the Colorado River region, all sandwiched between America’s loveliest city, San Francisco, and its most unique, Los Angeles.

Leaving San Francisco we head east through California’s gold country, where in 1848, a single gold nugget was found which triggered a stampede of gold-seekers known as the 49’ers. We then drive to Yosemite National Park for a chance to hike, bike, or float through the extraordinary landscape of glacier-carved granite monoliths and groves of giant Sequoia trees - the largest living things on earth!

Next, Las Vegas! Cruise “The Strip” in style on our included limo tour, then indulge in an all-you-can-eat buffet, take in a show or just watch the amazing crowds, neon lights and attractions. You can always opt to take a helicopter flight down The Strip or just gamble the night away in the casinos.

Leaving Las Vegas, we venture into America's premier national park, the Grand Canyon. Visit the viewpoints, hike the trails, or take a scenic flight for a bird’s-eye view. Then, drop down into the desert for a lovely last evening along the Colorado River, before heading to the City of Angels for a tour of Hollywood and our final destination.

Accommodation & Meals
This is a camping tour. Camping or unpaid Hotel (H) when noted. You will contribute to a food kitty of $9 per day. This will provide for 3 meals a day usually. While on the tour you will take turns cooking meals. Eating fresh food that we purchase as we travel to satisfy the international flavour of the group- a healthy way to travel at an unbeatable price.
