Americana Road Trip - 28 Days

This road trip provides you with a coast-to coast trip full feel of real America. From the awe inspiring Niagara Falls through the heart of blues country to the alien encounters of Roswell New Mexico and the grandeur of the national parks of the West this trip is pack full of all that is weird and wonderful in the USA.

Our trip begins in the ‘Big Apple’. We promptly head towards the Finger Lakes of New York state before joining the Maid of the Mist boat trip at mighty Niagara Falls. Next we begin our musical journey through Cleveland, Ohio and the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame before heading into the bluegrass state of Kentucky where we will tour a bourbon distillery.

Heading further south we enter Tennessee. First stop Nashville the home of the Grand Ole Opry and Memphis, home of Elvis. You can choose to visit Graceland, home of ‘The King’ or soak up the blues in one of the Memphis clubs. We next head to Arkansas to soak in the Hot Springs before hitting Oklahoma to join Route 66.

We continue our journey to Amarillo, Texas home to the Cadillac Ranch, one of the first public art displays in America. Next perhaps the oddest stop on our journey Roswell, New Mexico. The locals and the International UFO Museum and Research Centre do their best to explain the “incident” that occurred there...and they say they have proof of aliens that crashed to Earth!

Heading north through the foothills of the Rocky Mountains we visit America’s oldest capital, Santa Fe. We cross the Colorado border to see Durango’s  ‘wild west’ architecture and a rodeo takes place most nights. Mesa Verde National Park will offer us an amazing look into the history of the ancient Ancestral Puebloans and their stone cliff dwellings.

Heading west we’ll explore Monument Valley with our own Navajo guide and learn more about Native American customs. Time to relax on the shores of Lake Powell and go for a swim in the cool blue waters before heading for the Grand Canyon. Take in the fantastic views from the rim, opt for one of the well-known hikes or try an optional scenic flight over the canyon itself! After our last few days in the desert we stop in fabulous Las Vegas. Explore the ‘Strip’ with our included limousine tour!

Heading up the ‘ET’ (Extraterrestrial) Highway, we visit the "UFO Capital of the World", Rachel, Nevada. Lake Tahoe is next on our list, the perfect place to enjoy a spectacular sunset cruise! We venture to our last national park of the trip, grand Yosemite. With its high cliffs, waterfalls, and amazing nature beauty it is truly a nature lover’s paradise. We finish this amazing trek in the "City by the Bay", San Francisco.
