Southerner - 21 Days

This tour from New York to Los Angeles is a perfect blend of large cities, small towns and spectacular scenery and National Parks. A great tour to explore America at it’s best from east to west.

Our tour begins in the Big Apple, New York City. We head directly to the nations capital, Washington DC, complete with Roman style monuments and attractions. We spend two days in the capital of America before heading into the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia on our way to the country capitals of Nashville and Memphis Tennessee.

In Memphis we check out Beale Street to see the history of blues and country in America. Here you have a chance to see the home of Elvis, Graceland. After visiting the home of country and the blues we head to the jazz capital of New Orleans.

New Orleans has an amazing nightlife on Bourbon Street and is completed during the day with street performers and artists. After two days in New Orleans soaking up the atmosphere we head to the great state of Texas. We stop in San Antonio, Big Bend National Park and El Paso before continuing through New Mexico into Arizona.

We leave behind the big cities for a taste of the southwestern desert and some amazing national parks. We visit the saguaro cactus- studded vistas of Sonora Desert including a once in a lifetime experience at our secluded cowboy camp.

We continue to the Native American lands of Monument Valley and Grand Canyon National Park. From this spectacular sight we head into the heart of glitz and glamour, Las Vegas. Take in the strip, a show or try your luck in one of the many casinos.

We finish our journey by heading back into the wilderness of Death Valley National Park before reaching our final destination of Los Angeles.

This is a camping tour. Camping or unpaid Hotel (H) when noted. You will contribute to a food kitty of $9 per day. This will provide for 3 meals a day usually. While on the tour you will take turns cooking meals. Eating fresh food that we purchase as we travel to satisfy the international flavour of the group- a healthy way to travel at an unbeatable price.
