Transcontinental North - 28 Days

From New York to Los Angeles through the magnificent north of America! Take in the big cities of the Big Apple, the Windy City of Chicago and the eclectic Vancouver on your way to Hollywood! Along the way you will experience the fantastic Yellowstone, Banff, and Yosemite National Parks. From the Atlantic to the Pacific this tour captures the diversity of the North.
From the Big Apple we head straight for upstate New York and the Finger Lakes region. These lakes are a great first stop on our way to the mighty Niagara Falls and the massive Great Lakes. Get as close as you dare to the thunderous waters on the Maid of the Mist boat ride.

Around Lake Erie and into the Midwest we head for Chicago, the "Windy City". This great city is known for its museums, Lake Shore Drive and its classic music. Continuing west we journey through Wisconsin and Minnesota to the Indian lands of the Sioux tribe. These Indian lands hold Badlands National Park and the famed Black Hills. We continue past the faces of former presidents at famous Mt. Rushmore National Monument and the massive Native America rival of Crazy Horse Monument.

Our journey takes us to the Rocky Mountains next! We experience a Country Western Bar in Cody and then head north into the beautiful Yellowstone National Park. Buffalo roam free throughout the park and hot springs abound. You may even get a chance to see Old Faithful in action! As we journey keep your eye out for the cowboys who still live in the "Old West".

Now heading north we venture through Montana. On our way from America to Canada we visit the stunning Glacier National Park on our way to the aqua Lake Louise and spectacular Banff National Park. After taking in our fill of stunning scenery and national parks we head to the cities of the Pacific Northwest. Vancouver and Seattle are chocked full of shops, nightlife and sights to see. From Seattle we head straight south down the Oregon and California coastlines on the way to the mammoth redwood forests. These trees are amongst the biggest living things on the planet and are well worth the stop!

San Francisco, complete with the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Chinatown, cable cars, baseball and more give us loads to do on our 2-night stop. Then we head inland to the lovely Yosemite National Park and the breathtaking beauty of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Through the Central Valley and back to the coast we break before our end destination of Los Angeles.

Meals
You will contribute to a food kitty of $9 per day. This will provide for 3 meals a day usually; eating fresh food that we purchase as we travel to satisfy the international flavour of the group- a healthy way to travel at an unbeatable price. While on the tour you will take turns cooking meals.
