Westerner Three - 21-day tour

Experience the best of the American Southwest. From the great cities of LA, San Francisco and Las Vegas to the serene mountains, deserts and canyons this trip is a guaranteed adventure filled with endless activities from sunrise to sunset.

First stop is a tour of Hollywood, home to the rice and famous before cruising up the coastline to gorgeous Big Sur. Next, we visit the Monterey Peninsula known for it’s beauty, shopping and kayaking en route to the "City by the Bay", San Francisco. We have a chance to walk across Golden Gate Bridge, see the famous Chinatown, see the infamous Alcatraz or ride the cable cars.

From the bustle of San Francisco we head to the peaceful and breathtaking beauty of Yosemite Valley, with its glacially carved valleys and majestic and huge Sequoia trees. We head further through the Sierra Nevada Mountains before crossing Nevada headed for Utah's superb wilderness. We have an abundance of National Parks to see including: Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Arches National Parks. Here you will have the chance for various hikes, mountain bike rides and scenic river trips along with many other options of exploring the colourful canyons and magnificent rock formations.

Crossing the San Juan River we head for the Navajo Indian Reservation. Go horseback riding or go on a jeep ride to see the majestic of this place before we set up camp on the edge of Monument Valley. After our time in the desert we visit the deep blue waters of Lake Powell for some fun on a waverunner or time to rest, relax and soak up the sun before the most awe-inspiring of all, Grand Canyon National Park.

Take a day to explore the depth and height of this massive canyon. Opt for a scenic flight, or just take time to sit quietly on the edge of this wondrous place.

Into the bright lights and big city of Las Vegas, neon capital of the world. Try your luck in the clubs and casinos on the infamous Strip. Next stop San Diego known for the Gaslamp Quarter, SeaWorld and the world-famous San Diego Zoo. Learn to surf, see the theme parks, or just enjoy the time relaxing on the beach before we head back to Los Angeles for a fun-filled day at Universal Studios.

Camping or Hotel/Hostel where noted. You will contribute to a food kitty of $9 per day. This will provide for 3 meals a day usually. While on the tour you will take turns cooking meals.
