You will have the opportunity to become an important educational tool in assisting the sanctuary with teaching the public about the wild wolf and the epidemic of abused and abandoned captive bred wolves and wolf dogs.

Volunteer Role

This project offers you the unique opportunity to work closely with these incredible creatures. Your role as a volunteer is to be dedicated to providing impeccable care for the animals.

The main focus of this wildlife sanctuary is to give lifetime care to abused, neglected or unwanted wolves and wolf dogs. The sanctuary is home to over 50 resident animals and provides each one with the best possible environment, enrichment activities, nutrition and medical attention.

Animals are situated in enclosures in compatible pairs or family groups. Habitat enclosures range from 5000 square feet to one acre in size all with natural rocky terrain, native plants, and many trees. Several enclosures even include ponds or other enrichment additions.

Volunteer duties include but are not limited to:
  • Feeding
  • Cleaning enclosures
  • Walking and socialising animals
  • Gardening/landscaping
  • Performing maintenance tasks
  • Giving tours
  • Assisting with outreach projects and events
  • Administrative duties
  • Preparing Wolf food
  • Separating donations of raw meat
  • Performing building projects
  • Cleaning and sanitising food and faecal buckets
