Information Pack & Orientation Seminar Invitation
Upon arrival into Australia you will be met at the airport. Our representative will take you to ‘Port Macquarie’s chair’ a famous Sydney landmark overlooking the harbour and you will receive a comprehensive information pack and orientation that will include information on the following:
- Obtaining a Tax File Number (TFN),
- Obtaining a Medicare Card (If relevant)
- Opening a bank account,
- Long Term Accommodation options
- Superannuation

- Surf Safety
- Maps
- Tourist information, what’s on guide etc.
You will be invited to a more detailed orientation at our office on the following day at 4:00pm. This will give you lots more information about jobs and how we can help you.
Job Search Centre
You will have six day a week access to our job search centre located at our office in the heart of Sydney. The team at the office will be there to answer any questions you have about working in Australia and applying for jobs. Popular jobs available for backpackers in Australia include:

Our office operates a comprehensive website with hundreds of dedicated jobs suitable for working holiday travellers. Jobs can be found on the website (address will be given when you arrive) and on the jobs notice board in the office.

Internet Facilities
You will receive free 30 minutes of Internet time each day in our Sydney office. This is a great way to stay in touch with family friends back home as well as contact employers regarding work.
The centre is open 6 days a week. (You will receive 1 hour a day if you hop out if bed early and visit the office between 9-11am for happy hour)!
International Phone card with $5 credit
This phone card allows you to call home for the cheapest rates available. Rates to most EU and North American countries are only 0.9c per minute! The card is fully rechargeable at our office or any Australia Post Office. The card also offers you one simple local call cost access number throughout the whole of Australia!
Mail Holding & Forwarding Service
A permanent Sydney address at our office will be issued to all clients along with an individual 4- digit number. This service allows you to have your mail sent to our office in Sydney where it can either be collected or redirected to any address in Australia at no extra cost*. (*Letters & Postcards only. Redirected parcels have to pay the cost from Sydney to any selected Post Office).
This service is fully manageable via our website, where clients can log-on to check or request a redirection of their mail. We will also email you when new mail arrives for you! This service is valid for 12 months from your arrival date into Australia.
Luggage Storage
As part of this package you will also receive one month’s free luggage storage (standard size suitcase or backpack or overnight bag) in our Sydney office. Additional months storage can be purchased locally as required.
Bank Account
Prior to arrival we will open an Australian bank account for you so that you can get paid whilst you are working. We recommend that you carry your money to Australia in travellers’ cheques as they are quick and easy to change and are a very safe way of carrying your funds.
Vodafone Australia SIM Card and Reserved Mobile Phone number
You can give all your family and friends your new Aussie mobile number before you leave home. We will give you the number prior to departure. Upon arrival to Australia you will collect your SIM card form our office in Sydney and you can start using your phone straight away.
Please remember to check with your provider that you can use your phone abroad.
Project Support
Throughout your stay in Australia you will have the support and guidance of our team in Sydney. They will provide you with competent assistance and help you with any questions or advice you may need during your stay. In addition, you will have 24-hour emergency contact numbers for both the UK and Australia so you will always be able to reach someone should you need to.
Accommodation
For the first 7 nights you will stay in an ultra modern hostel in shared accommodation. It’s conveniently located right next to Central station, and nearby you will find plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. It’s the perfect base for anyone visiting Sydney!

After your first 7 nights you can easily extend your stay, which will cost around £12 per night.
Group flight option
If you’re worried about travelling alone why not take our group flight option. This is a great way to travel with like-minded travellers. Before you depart we will send out a contact list to everyone departing at the same time, that way you can arrange to meet at the airport and will all get to know one another before you even set foot on aussie soil! Please contact a travel advisor for exact start dates and more information on our group flights.
If you would rather organise your own flights then please make sure you arrive into Sydney on one of the arrival dates above. Please note that an additional charge of £20 applies for travellers not taking the group flight option.
How long should I stay for?
The working holiday visa is only granted once in a lifetime so we recommend that you stay for a minimum of 3 months to make the most of the visa. This will also allow you enough time to get work and also have some time out to travel and see the sights.

Working holiday visa
To take part in this programme you will require a working holiday visa. The working holiday visa is available to anyone age 18-30. The emphasis is on casual employment: you are meant to work for no more than six months at any one job. If you want to stay in Australia for up to 24 months, this is now possible. Speak to one of our sales advisors for more information.
We can process the visa for you, alternatively you can apply online at the Australian Immigration website.
Working Holiday Visa restrictions
To be eligible for a Working Holiday Visa, you must:
- Be aged between 18 and 30 years at the time of application
- Have a valid British or Irish passport
- Have no dependant children
- Have not previously entered Australia on a working holiday visa
- Meet health and character requirements
- Be outside Australia at the time of visa grant
To be granted a working holiday visa you must also agree that:
- Your main reason for coming to Australia is to holiday
- You must not undertake studies or training for more than 3 months
- You will leave Australia at the end of your authorized stay You must:
- Have sufficient funds to support yourself for the initial part of your stay. £2000 minimum is regarded as sufficient. You may have to provide evidence of this in the form of a bank statement.
