Project Location
This great package starts in Sydney and finishes in tropical Cairns in Northern Queensland. You will get to see the whole of the fantastic East Coast and visit the most popular places along the way.
Australia
Australia has a much more outdoorsy culture than the UK, revolving around the beach and barbie lifestyle! This jostles alongside suburbia in Oz, which is every bit the Neighbours dream. There is a wonderful indigenous culture – suppressed for a while but now wholeheartedly embraced in Oz – you just have to visit Uluru to see that.
Cairns
Cairns is one of the top traveller’s destinations in Australia. The unusual combination of geographical features, the coral coastline and adjacent tropical rainforest means it can host a whole variety of activities from coral reef scuba diving, white water rafting, canoeing, horse riding skydiving and more. Another interesting feature of this city is the mangroves that surround it; these swamps are home to a number of fascinating water birds.
Getting There
You will need to arrange flights into Sydney where you will be met and transferred to the hostel. Your programme will end in Cairns once you have finished your volunteer work.
