DAY 1 - Arrival in Cairns
- You arrive and check-into the hostel in Cairns, anytime after 11am. You meet the rest of the group before starting the course.
- Arrange your dive medical (if necessary and time permits)
- You have free time to explore Cairns, catch up on any lost sleep or take a tour.
DAY 2 - Academic and Pool training
- The course begins! After your pick up from the hostel, you will start with academic training in the classroom with the rest of group.
- Dive medical (if you need it) and then break for lunch!
- In the afternoon you’ll start practical training in the pool before being transferred back to the hostel.
DAY 3 - Academic and Pool training
- You will be picked up from the hostel in Cairns followed by some pool training.
- Break for lunch and then you will return to the classroom for some more training and an exam.
- Dropped off back at hostel.
DAY 4 – The Live aboard trip - Diving on the Great Barrier Reef!
- You will be transferred from hostel to dive centre.
- A light breakfast is served on the boat to begin your fantastic three-day/two-nights live-aboard trip on the Great Barrier Reef. Late morning you receive you first training dive in theOcean!
- After lunch you’ll have a second open water-training dive before enjoying into a well-earned, hearty dinner. The evening is your own free time to relax and chill out with the others in the group.
DAY 5 – Enjoy some more great diving!
- Your third training dive first thing in the morning will be the deepest dive of your certification! Followed by a satisfying breakfast, you have your fourth and final training dive before a filling lunch to celebrate the fact you are now a certified diver!
- After this you can participate in your first pleasure dive with your new PADI qualification.
- Have a rich and hearty dinner before doing a guided night dive – a great experience!
DAY 6: More diving and return to Cairns
- An early morning dive followed by breakfast
- After breakfast, the vessel makes its last site of the trip where you do your second dive of the day. When you surface from your last dive of the day, you will go back to the vessel and can enjoy some freshly made sandwiches as the boat heads back to Cairns.
- Join your fellow passengers and crew at a local restaurant for a farewell dinner and drinks!
DAY 7: Programme end date
- You can either check out of the hostel (by 10am) or stay for some extra nights. It’s not recommended that you fly within 48 hours of diving so a lot of people will choose to relax by the pool or head into the City.
