Australia has a much more outdoorsy culture than the UK, revolving around the beach and barbie lifestyle! This jostles alongside suburbia in Oz, which every bit the Neighbours dream. There is a wonderful indigenous culture – suppressed for a while but now wholeheartedly embraced in Oz – you just have to visit Uluru to see that.
Climate
Leconfield enjoys a long hot summer from November to March and a mild to cold winter in between. The property is 800 metres above sea level so even in the summer it can turn cold quite quickly. It pays to be prepared so make sure you pack something for those occasional cold days in the summer and regular cold days in winter. You will be having so much fun though you will hardly notice.
Getting There
You will need to arrange transport to Tamworth for the morning of the first day. We recommend staying in Tamworth the night before, as it’s quite a long journey if travelling from Sydney or Brisbane.
You will be picked up and taken to the property ready for the start of your Jackaroo experience!
