Borneo Tribeschildren and Horses Volunteer
Project Location The farm is in a rural location in Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo.
Borneo Borneo is the third largest island in the world and is paradise for wildlife lovers. The diversity of the island’s plants and animals is exceptional and the rainforest in Borneo is now the only natural habitat for the Bornean orang-utan, which is an endangered species.
The project is based in Sarawak, which is a state of Borneo, with very varied habitats, from rivers and rainforest to mountainous National Parks. The culture of the area makes it a welcoming place for vistors who will enjoy meeting the friendly locals and visiting more traditional communities.
Weather Borneo enjoys a tropical climate. From November to March the monsoon brings rain to the country. The period between April and August is dry and warm and the coolest months are between September and March. Borneo has an average temperature of 20C - 36C with humidity high all year round!
Free Time and Optional Activities During your time in Borneo you will want to take some time out to explore. We will be able to assist you with organising trips that will enhance your experience Here are some examples of the trips available:

Here captive Orang-Utans are being rehabilitated for their return to the wild. Surrounded by lush tropical rainforest, an encounter with the free roaming Orang-Utans is a truly unique experience. You will have the opportunity to learn more about this endangered species and witness them feeding and playing.
