Gap Year in Brazil

Gap Year Brochure

A gap year in Brazil is an excellent choice if you want to experience life in South America on your year out. Brazil covers roughly half of South America and it would be easy to spend an entire gap year in Brazil. A gap year travel to Brazil is particularly popular with travellers wanting to explore the Amazon jungle – half of the Amazon basin is in Brazil and the Brazil section of the Amazon is the world’s densest and largest rainforest. A gap year in Brazil definitely isn’t just about wildlife and jungle expeditions however. For example you could spend your gap year to Brazil in action-packed Rio de Janeiro – which enjoys a beautiful position between golden beaches and mountains. If you can manage to time your gap year in Brazil to coincide with the Friday before Shrove Tuesday you’ll also be able to party for five days at the world famous Rio carnival.

To the gap year or career break traveller Brazil conjures up a tropical paradise with its unexplored rainforest, expansive rivers and islands with pristine beaches. Added to this the people of Brazil are friendly, vibrant and colourful. Almost mythical in its passionate carnivals and eerie rainforests, Brazil is an incredible destination at which to spend your year out.

A particularly rewarding Brazil gap year option is to do some volunteer work whilst you’re out there. Real Gap has several extremely worthwhile Brazil volunteer programmes all of which also give you the opportunity to learn a language (Portuguese in Brazil).
