Brazil Tennis Coaching
Project Location Rio de Janeiro (Language and Culture) and Belo Horizonte (Tennis Coaching).
Brazil Covering about half the landmass of South America, Brazil is a huge country rich in bio-diversity, beautiful beaches and home to the Amazon River/Rainforest. Every corner of this vibrant and colourful country offers a distinct and unique flavour, making each part attractive and full of exciting adventures for the intrepid traveller.
Rio and Belo Horizonte Rio is known throughout the world as one of the most beautiful and idyllic cities anywhere on the globe. With white sandy beaches and a year-round climate, the city is welcoming to those who love sports, the beach and outdoor life in general. Here you’ll have so much to do every day, with daytime activities to suit all interests and nightlife that surpasses any other South American city.
Belo Horizonte or “Beautiful Horizon” is the state capital of Minas Gerais, the third largest state in Brazil.
Less known for its tourism than Rio, Belo Horizonte is one of Brazil’s leading industrial centres, with many national and multinational companies based here. Due to this business influence there is still plenty to offer and much to occupy you during your stay.
Free Time Rio de Janeiro Rio has so much to see and do that any stay here, long or short you’ll be kept occupied. If relaxing on Ipanema or on the Copacabana beaches is not enough, then you can always take part in a number of the water sports readily available at or near the beach. Also, the cable car up to Sugar Loaf Mountain for panoramic views or a trip to see the statue of Christ the Redeemer, are must-do’s whilst in Rio. If you are looking for culture, then the city has a number of museums and if you are there for the nightlife, Rio has heaps to choose from.
Belo Horizonte Despite not being as set up for tourists as Rio, Belo Horizonte has a lot to offer. With more bars per person than any other city in Brazil, it certainly has a lot to entertain the outgoing volunteer! However, the city has a lot more than just nightlife. Belo is home to 2 of the most successful football teams in Brazil, Cruzeiro and Atletico Mineiro. It also hosts many of the national volleyball team’s games. Outside of the city, the countryside is home to a number of adventure sports and within the city there is a lot of culture and history to keep you engaged.
Our local coordinator can let you know about the many different opportunities based on your interests.
Getting There You need to arrange your flights into Rio de Janeiro International Airport. Many airlines fly there direct from the UK, including British Airways and Varig (Brazil’s National carrier). Cheap one-stop options include TAP Portugal via Lisbon, Iberia via Madrid and Air France via Paris.
Transfer to Belo Horizonte You’ll be transferred to Belo Horizonte by public bus. From Rio de Janeiro, this will take approximately 6 and a half hours. The buses are modern and very comfortable for the journey.
On arrival into Belo Horizonte our local coordinator will pick you up and transfer you to your accommodation.
