Brighter Future in Cordoba Argentina
Project Location Cordoba, Argentina
Argentina Comprising almost half of the Southern part of South America, Argentina is home to some of the tallest mountains, expansive deserts and highest waterfalls imaginable. It is a diverse country, from the sparsely populated parts of Patagonia to the bustling metropolis of Buenos Aires. There is a fascinating mix of European influences, cultural heritage and an air of sophistication that make Argentina a great country to visit.
Free Time Cordoba is situated in the heart of Argentina and is an extremely picturesque and historical area.
Although modern in parts, the city still manages to retain its rich colonial heritage with a wealth of old churches, The Cabildo (Old Town Hall) and the prestigious National University of Cordoba. The city is regarded as one of the safest in Argentina so your stay is sure to be a pleasant one. Cordoba provides all the services needed to make your time comfortable with public transport readily available to and from other cities. Also, with its huge student culture there is an exciting nightlife with many bars, discos and restaurants throughout the city.
In your free time you could take part in many different activities including swimming, climbing, walking, fishing, horse riding and bicycle riding. The colonial district boasts plenty of modern art and history museums as well as traditional Tango bars, confiterias (tea rooms) and penas (folk music shows). Cordoba's hills provide the perfect setting to practice adventure sports like climbing, trekking, rappel, paragliding, etc.
At the weekend you could visit the National Park of Cordoba Province with its unique species of wildlife or the breathtaking ‘Road of Traslasierra’ valley, which is located at the foot of the highest hill in the Province. Alternatively you could travel to the Jesuit churches and estancias, which were declared by UNESCO as a Humankind Cultural Heritage or go horse riding through the mountains of La Cumbre.
Getting There You will need to arrange your flight to arrive at the international airport of Cordoba City, where you will be met and accompanied to your accommodation or to the language school, in time to start the introduction. You should aim to arrive on the Sunday before your programme is due to start. Alternatively you can fly to Buenos Aries and then catch a bus (approx) 8 hours to Cordoba.
