Cambodia Teaching Project
You will find the experience extremely rewarding, while also ensuring that these people can look toward a brighter future!
Volunteer Role You will work at a centre set up by the local community with people from the Khan Meanchey and Khan 7 Makara area, providing essential assistance with lessons, while also helping with the general running of the project. The skills that you will teach will go a long way to enable these youths to become more independent and help others with their knowledge. Working hours for the project will be 8:00–12:00 and 14:00–17:00, Monday to Friday. You will travel to and from the project by tuktuk, arguably the best way to get around the city.
As a volunteer your activities will include teaching English, drawing and painting, and helping to arrange lesson plans. You will also be helping give the children valuable health education advice and ensuring that the classroom is clean and tidy. At the centre you can also assist with any other work at the project that may include maintenance and general administration.
Location
The project is located in Khan Meanchey and Khan 7 Makara in Cambodia’s capital Phnom Penh.
Accommodation & MealsDuring your placement you will be staying at a guesthouse that is in a great location near a popular market. Volunteers will have to arrange food for themselves, however there is a restaurant at the guesthouse and many more are available in the surrounding neighbourhood.
