Can I go travelling on my own?
|

|
You can most certainly go travelling on your own…along with 80% of all the people we send abroad! It seems that travelling alone is the very in thing to do in the Real Gap camp, mainly because there are quite a few lovely benefits. Yeah, fair enough it is a little bit daunting when you set out and its true that you don't have your best buddy there to share all those new sights and experiences with but (and that is a big but) think of the advantages…
The planning process is so much easier - you only have to consider where you want to go and what you want to do!
You're going to be meeting loads of people in the same boat and there's nothing to hold you back- you'll make friends with your hostel dorm mates, people on projects and so on, so you won't actually spend that much time on your own. You might even find someone, or a group of people that you want to carry on travelling about with, but then if you don't, you'll meet loads more people at your next destination.
You don't have to compromise…on anything! Whether it's where to go for dinner, what kind of transport to use, what sights to see. To be honest, it's all about you and what you want to do, the perfect excuse to be selfish.
You don't have to worry about your friend's annoying habits, you can get up and start the day when you like and so on and so forth.
Having said all this, its not like travelling with friends can't be equally as fantastic and wonderful etc, we just want you to see that travelling alone is by no means a bad thing…some people swear by it! |
