Cape Town Childrens Home For Girls
Project Location Wynberg; a southern suburb of Cape Town, South Africa
Cape Town Known affectionately as the ‘Mother City’, Cape Town is one of the most beautiful and dynamic cities in South Africa.
Lying at the southernmost point of Africa and nestling in the shadow of the majestic Table Mountain, Cape Town offers you a wide range of attractions.
Visit the lively Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, with its variety of craft and souvenir shops, restaurants, bars and street entertainment. From here you may take a boat trip to Robben Island, the former prison where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated or drive to the beautiful vineyards to sample the renowned South African wines. Either way, Cape Town has it all and suits every traveller’s needs!
Free Time You will have some of your weekends as free time on the project to explore the many sights that Cape Town has to offer and take part in a number of exciting activities, which will be at your own cost. Take a ride in the revolving cable car for breathtaking views from the top of Table Mountain, or for the more energetic, hike up one of the many paths to the summit. It is also worth taking a trip to Cape Point, situated in the Cape Peninsula National Park (a World Heritage Site), where there are superb views of the Atlantic Ocean and False Bay.
There are many other activities available, which include surfing, ocean kayaking, deep-sea tuna fishing, sailing, hiking, horse riding, African drumming, windsurfing, kite surfing, paragliding and hang gliding. Alternatively, hire a car and travel along the stunning coastline of the Cape, visiting the beautiful Penguins on Boulders Bay and the famous Cape of Good Hope, or simply relax in one of the many bars or cafes and watch the world go by.
Getting There You will need to fly into Cape Town International Airport in South Africa. From here you will be met by your project representative, who will take you to your project to begin your orientation.
