Project Location
In the Red Hill Community, within site of the beautiful Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point, the most southwestern tip of the African Continent, South Africa

Cape Town
Known affectionately as the ‘Mother City’, Cape Town is one of the most beautiful and dynamic cities in South Africa. Lying at the most southern point of Africa and nestling in the shadow of the majestic Table Mountain, Cape Town offers you a wide range of attractions.

Visit the lively Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, with its variety of craft and souvenir shops, restaurants, bars and street entertainment. From here you may take a boat trip to Robben Island, the former prison where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated or drive to the beautiful vineyards to sample the renowned South African wines. Either way, Cape Town has it all and suits every traveller’s need!

Free Time

You will have your weekends on the project as free time. There are many activities and excursions that you can take part in during your time in Cape Town. Some of these include:

  • Aquila private game reserve: A Big 5 game reserve 2 hours out of Cape Town. This costs approximately R850pp, including buffet breakfast and lunch at the reserve and 3hr game
drive. Also possible opportunities to pet cheetahs!
  • City hop-on hop-off double-decker bus in Cape Town
  • Loads of sights to visit in Cape Town, just a short distance from Fish Hoek
  • Garden Route weekend

Please note: All extra activities are at your own cost and can be arranged for you by your coordinators at the project. We also have a number of overland tours departing from Cape Town at the end of your project to other country destinations, such as Nairobi or the mighty Victoria Falls.

Please contact a member of the Africa team for further information on these.

Getting There
You will need to arrange your flights into Cape Town, where our project staff will be waiting for you and take you to your programme in Fish Hoek.
