This is the opportunity to be involved in a number of rewarding and diverse programmes, such as caring for young children in a women’s shelter, teaching primary and secondary education and teaching new skills to those keen to support themselves in Africa. Be a part of this rewarding project and offer children from difficult backgrounds the love, support and attention they so desperately need and deserve.

Volunteer Role

This programme involves various aspects of primary school teaching, community work and development. We support a number of different community development initiatives. Our aim is to provide you with a diverse and varied experience, which will allow you insights into various facets of life of underprivileged individuals in Cape Town.

You will have the opportunity to be involved in some of the following projects:
  • Central Primary School
  • Junior School
  • Cape Town Shelter for Women
  • The Refugee Orphanage

Location

Cape Town, South Africa

Accommodation and Meals

During your time in Cape Town, you will stay in a fantastic Art Deco backpacker-style lodge in shared bedrooms with 4–6 other volunteers. The lodge is right in the heart of Woodstock, less than a 500-metre walk to 4 of our projects. It is located only 4km from the city/waterfront areas and 1km to Observatory pubs/clubs/cafes. Just a short walk away you will find a few cafes, fast food outlets, banks and public transport (mini-taxi or bus). You'll receive 3 meals per day.
