I want to thank Real Gap for everything they have done, making my trip to Ghana an amazing experience! I miss the country, the people and the orphanage with all it's beautiful children where I worked :)

Claire Padgett, 01/08/07 - 28/08/07
I had my own bedroom that I could lock and it had all the facilities I could need. There was no running water, however this I got used to and the family provide facilities to enable showering and flushing the toilet etc. Every 72 hours the electricity goes off for 12 but this is easy to become adjusted to.

Alice Richens, 03/09/06 - 01/10/06
I worked on a summer school project, which was really enjoyable, and we had a lot of freedom to teach what we wanted and how we wanted. We were thrown right into it, but that made it a better experience in the long run. I also worked at a private school, which was extremely poor (palm tree leaves for a roof!)

When I arrived in Ghana I felt nervous and excited but felt that Real Gap had prepared me as much as possible.
Robert Jones, 01/07/06 - 27/08/06
The outstanding feature of Real Gap for me was the flexibility of it's programmes, which made my GAP year so much simpler to organise. Not only that, but I felt like the affiliated organisation in Ghana provided the most challenging projects available.

Rachel Boyce, 02/07/06 - 30/07/06
It's been a totally eye-opening experience seeing first-hand what some of the children have had to go through and if all you do as a volunteer is to make the children smile then I reckon you've done a good job.

I was sad to leave but I'm keeping in touch with the home and my new friends and I'm planning to go back and visit one day!
