The Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) programme gives you loads of opportunities to join unique projects that span Australia.
Map of Australia
Port Macquarie
With glorious bays and beaches, intricate inland waterways, rainforests, rolling hinterland and a temperate climate, Port Macquarie is a great destination. Volunteers are involved in a range of projects, such as tree planting and weed control, track construction, flora and fauna surveys, wetland restoration, coastal activities, fence construction and heritage projects.

Newcastle
Newcastle is Australia's sixth largest city, and is best known for pristine coastline, heritage and culture, including a lively music scene. Diverse project opportunities include revegetation, wetland restoration, coastal projects, weed control, seed collection, track construction, fencing, flora and fauna surveys and heritage projects. Projects take in a range of locations, and this region is well-known for opportunities to spot whales, dolphins and koalas.

Sydney
Sydney is well known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world with its magnificent Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Joining here is a starting point to projects throughout NSW (generally away from Sydney), with projects such as bush regeneration, seed collection, weed control, track construction and tree planting in national parks, coastal areas, urban locations and regional centres.

Cairns
Cairns is a tropical city, framed by the spectacular backdrop of rainforest mountain ranges and fringed by the Coral Sea. Projects starting from Cairns offer great opportunities to explore the region where the rainforest meets the reef. Volunteers may be involved in a number of activities, including tree planting, habitat restoration, track construction, flora and fauna surveys, weed control and coastal projects.

Townsville
Townsville is a tropical city on the north-eastern coast of Queensland. Projects can include visits to locations such as Magnetic Island, the historic inland gold-mining town of Charters Towers or remote national parks in the Gulf country. Volunteers undertake a range of activities, including tree planting (rainforest regeneration), track construction, weed control, flora and fauna surveys, seed collection and heritage projects.

Brisbane
Brisbane enjoys a subtropical climate, and has plenty of parks and open spaces with heritage buildings and the great Brisbane River in the city centre. Projects include activities such as track construction, tree planting, weed control, fence construction, and habitat restoration - landscapes range from outback Queensland to rainforests, waterfalls and creeks, and the beautiful Queensland coast and islands plus urban Brisbane.

Melbourne
Projects starting from Melbourne take place in urban, rural and remote locations around Victoria. Get involved in a range of activities such as bushfire recovery programs, tree-planting, fencing, and heritage restoration. Locations include the high country, the coast, the city and all places in between.

Alice Springs
Projects take place in and around Alice Springs, Australia's most famous outback town, as well as in more remote locations. The red centre is a must-see Australian experience - and projects often include iconic destinations such as Ayers Rock / Uluru, and other majestic outback landscapes. Projects include track construction, flora and fauna surveys, weed control, seed collection, heritage projects and environmental education projects.

Darwin
Australia's Top End Region is an exciting combination of vast landscapes, the modern tropical city of Darwin, coastal mangroves and beautiful beaches, and World Heritage-listed parks. Projects can include tree planting, track construction, seed collection, coastal activities, weed control and heritage projects, and flora and fauna surveys. Projects take place in both urban and remote locations.

Perth
Start from beautiful Perth on the banks of the vast Swan River, near the historic port city of Fremantle. Projects in the region take place in urban areas, the inland region of Australia's largest State, and the beautiful southwest region which features tall forests and rugged coastline. Projects can include bush regeneration, seed collection, weed control, track construction and tree planting.
