Typical meals consist of - Breakfast: cereals, bread or toast, tea and coffee. Lunch: a self-made sandwich and fruit. Dinner: A meal prepared by the group, typically something like pasta, roast or vegetarian option. CVA is all about teamwork and this includes cooking, cleaning and washing up!
Free Time
Your working day will be approximately 8am until 4pm. You are free to relax at your leisure when you aren’t busy tracking wildlife and planting trees! The team leaders know the areas like the back of their hands and will be able to offer you great ideas of what to see and do. They will also take you to the best places for sunsets and sunrises, and show you where to spot kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, platypus and all the other weird and wonderful wildlife in Oz!
‘Nature Saturdays’ are also available for you to take part in and are included in part of your programme. On the second Saturday of each month there will be a guided bushwalk with an experienced guide, for example Brisbane’s Lamington national park, or Alice Springs Desert Park.
On the fourth Saturday of each month you have the opportunity to go to a wildlife or cultural exhibition. An example of these trips may be a visit to a koala hospital in port Macquarie, or entry to a crocodile farm in Cairns!
Tour Australia after your programme
After all that hard work, you may want to reward yourself with a fun, adventurous tour where you will have the opportunity to take part in loads of exciting activities and see some of Australia’s most popular sights.
