Costa Rica Care For Vulnerable Children

Programme Details

This project has been set up to help the underprivileged children and over worked staff at two adoption homes in and around San Ramón, Costa Rica. While these homes have been set up by government agencies to house vulnerable children they do not have the staff or ‘tias’ to give these children the time care and attention they greatly deserve. These children are not able to live with their families anymore for various reasons and so any time that can be given to them is appreciated. Even just playing with them or talking to them makes a huge difference in these children’s lives. Both homes have roughly 14 children at a time, up to twelve years of age. This means that you will be able to get involved in a range of activities that will help a number of children with different techniques and always keeping the project varied. Activities that you will be able to get involved in include:

  • Playing games and activities with the kids
  • Helping them with school duties
  • Teaching English
