Project Location

Costa Rica’s capital, San Jose

Costa Rica
What’s not to like about Costa Rica? Located between Panama and Nicaragua in Central America it has everything to offer the intrepid traveller including rainforests, white sandy coastlines and active volcanoes. In fact, over 25% of the country is protected through their National preserve system.

Aside from its huge biodiversity, Costa Rica offers an impressive range of exciting activities for tourists. When you consider its world-class hiking, scores of tropical beaches, great diving, river rafting and hot springs, you begin to realise why Costa Rica is considered a must-visit destination.

Free Time
If you have sufficient energy left after all your dancing and Spanish, there are plenty of activities to fill your free time. Friday is your day off while the weekends and the evenings after your dance academy lessons are yours to use as you wish. The volunteer centre has Internet and telephone facilities that you are welcome to use and also provides free coffee and juice. The travel information and reservation desks, meanwhile, can help you plan any excursions or arrange onward travel. San Jose has an excellent central location, making it an ideal base from which to explore the rest of the country, the parks, the beaches and the active volcanoes. The city itself has a host of attractions for you to enjoy and great bars and discos to practise your dance moves!

Getting there
You will need to arrange a flight into Costa Rica’s capital, San Jose. We strongly advise that you plan to arrive on the Sunday before your course starts. On arrival at San Jose airport you will be met and taken to your home stay accommodation.
