The water sports adventure programme takes you to San Jose and Playa Tamarindo, Pacific Coast in Costa Rica

Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a beautiful, biologically diverse country. Located in Central America, it has everything to offer the intrepid traveller; with rainforests, white sandy coastlines, volcanoes and more, over 25% of the country is protected through their National preserve system. In addition to this, Costa Rica forms less than 0.1% of the world’s landmass, but it has 5% of the overall biodiversity.

Water Sports in Costa Rica
Costa Rica is one of the best destinations in the whole of Latin America for adrenaline/adventure sports. With some of the best surf spots in Central America and even some of the top breaks in the world, few places can rival it for its surfing. However, despite the prominence of surfing, the number 1 adventure sport remains to be white water rafting. With so many rivers to choose from, each offering a good mix of grade 3-5 rapids, no traversing of the rivers will ever be mundane.

Kite surfing is a relatively new sport in the region and whilst it is no match for the other sports for its popularity, it will soon be regarded as one THE things you must do on any adventurous trip to Latin America. On the whole, Costa Rica and water sports are the perfect combination.

Getting There
You need to arrange your international flights into San Jose, Costa Rica’s capital. From San Jose, you will be collected by one of our coordinators and taken to your accommodation, before starting your Spanish course on the following Monday.
