Disabled Children Volunteer Project Peru
One of our most rewarding and popular social projects, spend time working with physically and mentally handicapped children and help them strive to shape a better life for themselves and for their future.
Why not combine this project with our language & culture experience? A great way to learn the language before you join the Peru volunteer project, a unique way to experience the culture and the best way to meet the locals!
Volunteer RoleHelp is needed in the infirmary, which includes: washing, dressing, feeding, and playing with the children. Professionals trained in physical therapy and speech therapy can assist in these areas. Whether you have experience in this field or are simply willing to help out for a good cause then this is one of the most rewarding projects you could possibly be involved with.
Volunteers are usually required to help during the afternoons as the children attend school in the mornings. If you would like to work in the mornings as well then help is needed in teaching basic maths, Spanish, speech, and games. Volunteers are more than welcome to bring any additional ideas or skills and incorporate these into the lessons.
LocationProject is based in beautiful colonial Cusco, 5 mins from accommodation.
Accommodation & MealsShared accommodation is in one of our student apartments. The apartment is centrally located and is close to the main Plaza De Armas, shops, restaurants, clubs and bars. Meals are not included during the volunteer project. Volunteers cook their own meals and usually take it in turns. Food is cheap to buy.
