Volunteer Ecuador |
 |
Working as a volunteer on an Ecuador gap year is a great way to be a responsible tourist and make a positive contribution during your travels there. What’s more if you volunteer in Ecuador you’ll also gain a far greater insight in to everyday life and the local culture – as well as meeting other like-minded volunteers. In order to volunteer in Ecuador you don’t need to possess any specific qualifications or skills – just plenty of energy and enthusiasm. An additional benefit of working as volunteer in Ecuador is that you will learn a language with the comprehensive Spanish tuition, a skill which greatly enhances your experience (both when you’re volunteering and when you’re travelling through South America). If you intend visiting Ecuador on your gap year you will be visiting the smallest country in the rugged Andean highlands. Ecuador has an array of vibrant indigenous cultures, well-preserved colonial architecture, volcanic landscapes and dense rainforest. Not bad for a country that’s the same size as the US State of Nevada!
Ecuador volunteerIf you’d like to work as an Ecuador volunteer Real Gap has several extremely rewarding gap year projects to choose from. A particularly popular travel Ecuador volunteer option is to work on a wildlife conservation work project – and Real Gap has some superb wildlife programmes both on the mainland and in the Galapagos Islands. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to volunteer in Ecuador on a more ‘people-based’ project, you could opt to help care for street kids on the mainland or work as a teaching assistant in the Galapagos Islands.
