Real Gap's Ecuador Highlights

The city of Quito
Quito rests in a valley flanked by majestic mountains and on a clear day, snow-capped volcanoes can be seen from the capital. Quito has centuries-old architecture, which has not been disturbed by modern buildings or flashing neon signs, walking through Quito's streets at night, is to step into a bygone era.

Go on our Culture and Language Experience Ecuador programme, and you will not only learn Spanish but you will also learn about Ecuadorian cultures, heritage and lifestyle through speaking to locals and visiting local hot sports.

The Street Children Volunteer Ecuador programme gives volunteers the chance to help the disadvantaged street children of Quito and improve their living conditions.

Map of Ecuador

Since Ecuador's participation in the World Cup, football is a growing sport. Sport can bring people closer together and encourage social development. Take part in the Coach Football Ecuador programme and encourage children to stay away from a life of crime.

Cotopaxi Volcano
Is one of the most popular full-day or overnight excursions from Quito. You have fantastic views of this famous volcano from the Animal Rescue Volunteer Ecuador project at the Santa Martha Rescue Centre, which is situated in a beautifully scenic part of rural Ecuador. It is in an area of the Andes called the "Avenue of Volcanoes", surrounded by rolling hills and majestic volcanoes,  it's less than an hour south of Quito, near a town called Tambillo. Here you have the opportunity to work with animals; bears, ocelots, snakes, pumas, monkeys, birds and jaguars.
