This immensely rewarding challenge will push you to your limits, providing you with a huge sense of achievement and a more than memorable experience. Along with your fellow volunteers you will undertake the 35-day expedition in Nepal under the supervision of our experienced guides.

Following the physical test of a 12-night trek to Everest Base Camp you will spend 9 nights living and working within a Nepali community where you will gain a real sense of their culture and lifestyle, and lend a much needed hand to the villagers. Your participation in this expedition will facilitate the development of the community projects, as well as providing you with endless rewards.

Expedition Age Limit
Minimum age 18, maximum age decided upon potential participant’s health.

Participant Requirements
This programme requires you to be active, so participants need to ensure they feel fit and able to join a programme of this nature. It is advisable to consult your doctor to ensure you are fit to undertake the trek to Everest base camp.

The Volunteer Programme
The 12-night trek to Everest Base Camp may just be one of the hardest challenges of your life, but this expedition doesn’t end there! The programme is centred on giving you a true feeling of the real Nepal. To enhance your experience, you will then spend nine nights assisting at an orphanage in Kathmandu or Chitwan, or helping with other community work either schools, on farms or national parks. There will also be a two-night rafting trip combined with a two-night jungle safari. All in all you will have a wide variety of experiences to make your time in Nepal extremely memorable.

Expedition Orientation
Before your arrival at the project you will receive lots of further information relating to your programme, as well as hints on cultural aspects to be aware of and final pre-departure information.

Project Support
Throughout your stay you will have the support and guidance of our experienced staff and team who will provide you with competent 24-hour field support throughout your stay.

Before you depart we will also provide you with a 24 hour emergency contact number so you can always reach a member of our UK team should you need to.

Accommodation and Meals
All accommodation is included for the duration of your expedition. Accommodation styles will vary along the way from camping to staying at a Guest House. Throughout the community phase, accommodation will be in tents or with a local host family and food will be traditional Nepali cuisine, i.e. Dal- Bhat (rice, lentils and potato curry). You will receive three meals a day throughout your trip. You may be expected to participate in food preparation from time to time and will be organised into groups to do this.

If you have any questions or would like to have a chat about the programme, please feel free to contact the Asia team at the office on 01892 516164.
