Dive Typical Day


7.30 Wake up
8am Breakfast
9am Depart for Dive location (approx 20 min bus ride from village)
2pm Return to Village
3pm Cultural interaction and other activities
5pm Help prepare dinner
6pm Dinner

Predominantly, you will learn about the subsistent way of life that most islanders live, picking up bits and pieces of information as you talk and mix with the local people. Each day you will have different opportunities to experience something new and during your stay, you are likely to take part in most of the following things (and more!):

  • Learn about local medicines made from native plants
  • Go fishing Fiji-style
  • Relax on the beach, swim or snorkel in the warm crystal clear waters
  • Take a bamboo raft (bilibili) to nearby islands
  • Walks in the jungle to swim in the waterfalls
  • Learn basic Fijian phrases
  • Eat traditional meals cooked in the “Lovo”
  • Play the national sport of Fiji, 7’s rugby on the beach

Conservation Project Typical Day

7.30 Wake up
8am Breakfast
9am Depart for Dive location (3 min by taxi from the accommodation)
10am Marine Conservation Training (20 min boat ride to MPA location)
12pm Marine Conservation Dive and Reef Survey
1pm Lunch
3-6pm Return and free time
7pm Dinner
