Orientation
At the start of your programme you will receive an informal orientation, to go alongside your pre-departure handbook. This orientation will be conducted by our programme coordinator and will cover the following areas:
- Course Outline and Criteria: You will be briefed on what the course requirements are and what is expected of you at the assessment stage of each qualification.
- Safety: How to keep safe in the local area and how to ensure everyone’s safety whilst on the programme.
- Free time and travel advice: ideas about the types of things you can see and do
Questions/Answers Session: An opportunity for you to ask any further questions.
Accommodation and Meals
All accommodation is included. You will stay in a comfortable flash-packer resort for the duration of your programme. Rooms are dormitory style and located close (if not on) to the beach! The resort has its own swimming pool, bar, volleyball court and more.
Each day you have a continental breakfast included. This normally consists of fruit, juices, cereals and toast. The resort has its own restaurant where you can purchase your other meals and a bar if you wish to enjoy a few drinks at night. You should budget approximately £10 per day for your other meals, though this depends on your individual dietary needs.
Free Time
There’s a lot for you to do, so it will be impossible for you to get bored. Whether you’re interested in relaxing on the beach or getting out and about, you’ll be spoilt for choice. And to save your wallet, there are some free activities at the resort including snorkelling, kayaking, kava ceremonies, cultural activities and more. For those with a bit of cash to spare, you can go jet boating, big game fishing, trekking in the jungle and much more.
Project Age Limit
Minimum age 18, maximum decided on potential participant’s health
Health Requirements and PADI Indemnity Forms
All students looking to participate on this programme need to ensure that they are reasonably fit and free from any conditions that may prevent or be a danger to you when diving. Before departing the UK, it is best to consult your doctor.
In addition to the medical requirements, it is also necessary for you to complete several PADI indemnity forms. This stipulates that you will follow all of the necessary codes of conduct and that you accept the inherent risks of partaking in a scuba diving programme. Failure to complete these forms will prevent you from joining the course.
