Real Gap's Fiji Highlights

There are over 300 islands set in clear waters all with palm fringed beaches, lagoons, coral reefs and idyllic places to stay.

Fiji is a nature lover's delight. It has an unspoiled, unique environment of extreme beauty and tranquillity. The isolation of the South Pacific has protectd it from industrial progress, dangerous animals, poisonous snakes, spiders and pestilent diseases such as malaria.

There are an incredible number of activities -trekking in rainforests, amazing snorkelling, local villages to visit, Fijian culture, surfing and some of the best diving in the world. Everywhere you will hear the word ‘Bula', this is the traditional word for ‘hello' and ‘welcome' just what Fijians want to make you feel. The combination of unspoilt nature and fantastic people is what makes Fiji 100% paradise.

Map of Fiji

Viti Levu
The island could be circled in a day, but this certainly wouldn't be any fun, the best suggestion is to take your time and do it in several stages, stopping along the way to explore all the points of interest and chat with the local Fijians. The perfect way to explore the island is to go on the  Travel Fiji-Feejee Experience Bus Pass. This is a hop on hop off bus journey around the Island, you can do at your own pace.  You also take part in activities such as sand boarding, jungle treking, rafting and more.

In general, the east side of the island is dense and green with vegetation, due to the tropical rain fall, while the west is light yellow-green or yellow and brown, typically hot and dry, according to the season. Viti Levu has it all; cities, cane fields, nightlife, low life, villages and no shortage of friendly local people!

Suva
The city is the only real urban centre in Fiji and is home to some interesting architecture, other attractions include colourful markets, the Thurston Botanical Gardens, the fascinating Fiji Museum, and the Presidential Palace.
