Football Volunteer Ghana
Project Location Accra and Rural Areas, Ghana
Ghana Ghana is renowned for its gracious people, and is a peaceful and welcoming country that blends both modern and traditional life. Its wide valleys, rural villages, lowlying coastal plains and thick rainforests resound with the beat of traditional rituals, while her cities glow and vibrate with all the bustle of the modern world.
Ghanaians are said to be the friendliest people in West Africa: Warm, proud and yet humble, with a contagious and calming sense of humour. This project is no exception, as many enthusiastic football-loving children will greet you and make you feel more than welcome during your stay, whilst simply enjoying their time spent with you. Just by observing life in Ghana, you will learn a great deal and take home with you experiences and memories to last a lifetime.
Ghana has a consistent warm and dry climate, but experiences its rains between May and August: These are typically short bursts of heavy rainfall in between sunny spells.
Weekend travel During your stay in Ghana, you will want to take some time out to visit the interesting sights and local areas Ghana has to offer. You will be fine to take time out during your weekends, though please make sure you discuss this with your coordinator, and keep your host family informed at all times: Like any family, they will naturally worry about you, and be keen to have you home!
