Galapagos Island Teaching Project Volunteer
Enjoy the fabulous Galapagos Islands while integrating yourself as a vital member of the community. Teaching English to the younger generation is crucially important to the local people who are looking to gain employment in the tourist industry. As one of the primary tourist destinations in South America, the Galapagos Islands provide a major source of income for the indigenous population and speaking English has become invaluable. This is not only worthwhile project, but also a rare opportunity travel one of the most inaccessible destinations on the planet.
LocationTwo primary locations in the main towns on the Galapagos Islands of Santa Cruz and Isabela. Santa Cruz is the second largest Island of the Galapagos, behind Isabela, which is 4 times larger!
Accommodation and Meals
Most volunteers, Spanish students and interns live in host families. Our onsite staff personally knows all these families. All of their homes meet a standard set by our onsite staff. The families provide the participants with three meals every day.
Learn SpanishIf you want to volunteer on this project but you can't speak any Spanish or your Spanish language skills are basic, it is advisable to take spanish tuition at our Spanish Language School in Ecuador. This programme can be easily combined with the Spanish language course.
