Project Location
Based in the main towns of the Santa Cruz and Isabela Islands.
Galapagos
The project has 2 primary locations, in the main towns of the islands of Santa Cruz and Isabela. These Islands are easily reached from the mainland by air and sea. Isabela is the largest of the archipelago; 4 times the size of Santa Cruz, which is the second largest.
The schools in the Galapagos are either public or privately owned, and all have at least basic facilities. In rural areas, schools are somewhat more basically equipped in comparison to those in urban areas.
Free time
This is during the evenings and on the weekends. You may choose to take excursions to other parts of the country, or stay in town to get to know the community more intimately. Our onsite coordinator can organise tours or excursions at a discount, or you can travel independently with other volunteers from the centre.
Getting There
You will need to book your flights into Quito (Ecuador’s capital) International airport, to arrive the day before your project is due to start.
