The Ecuador Expedition is an excellent programme if you are looking to do an adventure expedition in South America. Like Real Gap's other volunteer expeditions abroad, it combines travel, adventure and volunteer work, so the programme is full of rewarding experiences for your gap year or career break.
The Ecuador Adventure programme is mainly a jungle gap year expedition, however, it has many opportunities to venture into the Andes Mountains, the beaches and the infamous Galapagos Islands.
The programme brings you to all the places of interest in Ecuador, from Quito to the Andes, the coast, jungle and much more. You can even choose to do voluntary work on the islands of Galapagos or end your journey with a cruise.
The geographical variation and bio-diversity makes a great base for outdoor activities, for example paragliding, mountain biking, river rafting, trekking and climbing. You can also go horseback riding in the beautiful landscape! Getting around in Ecuador is easiest by bus, and most destinations can be reached within 24 hours from Quito.
