Project Location Large towns and cities in Ghana, such as Accra, Timale and Kumasi and their surrounding rural suburbs.
Ghana Ghana is renowned for its gracious people and is a peaceful and welcoming country that blends both modern and traditional life. Ghanaians are said to be the friendliest people in West Africa: Warm, proud and humble, with a contagious and calming sense of humour. By observing life in Ghana, you will learn a great deal and take home with you experiences and memories to last a lifetime.
Weekend travel During your stay in Ghana you will want to take some time out to visit the interesting sights and local areas Ghana has to offer. You will be fine to take time out during your weekends, though please make sure you discuss this with your coordinator and keep your host family informed at all times.
Getting There You will need to fly in and out of Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana. Upon arrival you will be met by a programme representative who will transfer you to your accommodation, in preparation for your orientation.
Please Note: You must arrange your flights to arrive into Accra before 9.30pm or after 8am. If you arrive outside of these times, then there will be a private transfer cost of £60, payable to Real Gap before departure.
