The Giant Panda Conservation Programme The Giant Panda is one of the most endangered animals in the world with a current estimate of only 1600 alive today. This project gives you a great opportunity to have to observe and help these amazing creatures. Your assistance will go a long way to helping stop the Giant Panda becoming extinct while also having the opportunity to immerse yourself in Chinese culture.
Pandas are one of the most magnificent, adorable animals on earth giving joy to adults and children alike. Their survival is paramount. The China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP) is located in Wolong Nature Reserve and was established by the Chinese government together with WWF in 1980.
Over 20 years, CCRCGP have already resolved three key problems of breeding: difficult mating, pregnancy and infant survival, which have restricted the reproduction of the giant panda for a long time. There are now a total of 43 litters with 66 cubs that have succeeded in CCRCGP and 53 cubs are alive. The panda birth and survival rate are in the some of the best in the world. The captive panda population of CCRCGP was developed from initial 6 but now has over 70 animals
