Gap Year Brochure
If you travel to Guatemala you’ll be visiting the original heartland of the mighty Mayan Empire - which existed in this part of Central America from around 4000 BC right through until the arrival of the Spanish Conquistadors in the sixteenth century. Travelling to Guatemala, an absolutely essential place to visit is the incredible Mayan pyramids at Tikal. If you travel to Guatemala it’s a place positively brimming with ancient Mayan history and it’s a fascinating and beautiful country in which to explore.

Guatemala gap year travel offers all kinds of exciting possibilities. For example if lazing on pristine tropical beaches is a priority on your gap year there’s plenty of opportunity to do just that if you choose Guatemala to travel. However there’s also much to explore away from the beaches if you travel to Guatemala.

If you travel to Guatemala with Real Gap you also benefit from four hours a day Spanish tuition. Being able to speak some Spanish if you choose to volunteer in Guatemala makes life far easier.
