The project is located on the outskirts of the city of Buenos Aires, in the Parque Patricios neighbourhood.

Argentina
Comprising almost half of the southern part of South America, Argentina is home to some of the tallest mountains, expansive deserts and highest waterfalls imaginable. It is a diverse country, from the sparsely populated parts of Patagonia to the bustling metropolis of Buenos Aires. There is a fascinating mix of European influences, an absorbing cultural heritage and an air of sophistication that makes Argentina a great country to visit.

Buenos Aires
Argentina’s capital city was founded in 1536 by the Spanish on the southern shores of the Rio de la Plata on the southeastern coast of the South American continent. Buenos Aires is said to be one of the least South American of all the South American cities, which is somewhat true as there is a lot of European influence in the city, more so than other colonial capitals – perhaps earning the city the nickname ‘the Paris of South America’. Buenos Aires is a very cosmopolitan and sophisticated city and is ideal to wander around, taking in all the sights and sounds it has to offer.

The name Buenos Aires translates to ‘Fair Winds’, extracted from the far longer name given to it by the Spanish on its founding, but seems befitting due to its location on the coast and its past as an important Latin American port. For dance enthusiast, Tango music was born in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, in the brothels of Junin y Lavelle and can be sampled all over the city in late night clubs and bars.

Climate
Buenos Aires is said to have a sub-tropical climate with hot and humid summers and cold to temperate winters. If you are visiting Buenos Aires in the summer, you are looking at temperatures getting up to around 29C – so you’ll also see all the locals vacating the city to resorts on the Atlantic coast. The winter sees temperatures at a maximum of about 14C (June, July, August) and getting pretty low at night – snow is always possible! So, if you are looking to avoid the extremes, spring and autumn seem to be the best time – and a low tourist season. Rain is an all year round thing in Buenos Aires, it does not vary much from month to month.

Free Time
Buenos Aires offers a wealth of activities to keep you entertained during the evenings and weekends.

The city is alive with culture from museums, colonial architecture, plazas, theatres, and cathedrals to the popular tango evenings and the unforgettable nightlife. You could head to the lively and colourful La Boca area, La Recoleta to soak up the atmosphere and history or just relax and enjoy the shops!  After your project you can explore Argentina and head to Iguazu Falls or experience the wonder of Patagonia.

Getting There
You will need to arrange your flight to arrive at Ezeiza airport, the international airport of Buenos Aires, where you will have a transfer to your accommodation or to the language school, for the start of your programme. Please arrange your flight to arrive on the Sunday before your programme starts.
