Volunteer in India

Gap Year Brochure

Working as a volunteer in India is a great way to be a responsible tourist and make a positive contribution during your gap year in India. What’s more if you volunteer in India you’ll also gain a far greater insight in to everyday Indian life and culture – as well as getting to know both local people and other like-minded volunteers. In order to volunteer in India it’s not necessary to have any specific skills or qualifications - just enthusiasm and a strong desire to ‘give something back’ to those less fortunate than yourself.

India volunteer

If you’d like to work as an India volunteer Real Gap has several extremely rewarding programmes to choose from, located in different areas of the country. All of Real Gap’s India volunteer programmes are dedicated to community volunteering improving the lives of disadvantaged people or communities and it’s possible to help out in a number of ways – from working in health care to helping out at an orphanage. If you volunteer in India with Real Gap there’s also plenty of opportunity for India travel and see some of India’s incredible sights.

To volunteer in India is to experience a continent, not just a country. From North to south and east to west, the people are different, the languages are different, even the food is different. A gap year in India is certainly an experience. You might arrive somewhat intimidated, but after a year you will be hankering to come back. From a colourful people and a fascinating history to dramatic landscapes and magnificent beaches, India has it all. It is also what you make of it. Either way, a gap year in India will leave you a changed person.
