India Volunteer Rajasthan Programme
This programme is more suited to volunteers whom are looking for a more hard-core volunteer project! By doing volunteer work in India, you will give invaluable help to children and adults in deprived parts of the community. There are many different volunteer projects that need your help and skills, and by taking part, you will receive a very rewarding volunteer experience.
The Rajasthan volunteer programme in India is a very unique project. Living and working in the Rajasthan Desert, you will be involved in a community development programme either in childcare or education and will help local community to prosper. |
| Help Teachers
Volunteer in schools to give much needed support to local teachers. Class sizes in India can be extremely large; by teaching in Indian schools, you will help to free up teachers. As a school volunteer you can also teach English and Maths to Indian children.
Child-care
Volunteers work in local child-care centres also known as Aanganbari. The centres provide day-to-day care for young children and also serve pregnant women. Volunteers will be ensuring maximum attendance by the children of the area to these centres as well as giving personal care to the children.
Spare time
You will have loads of free time to explore the area. There are free excursions to Jalsalmer, the Taj Mahal and you can join a camel safari and a tiger safari too.
Project Location Volunteers are met at Delhi airport & taken to a hotel to chill out & refresh. The next day you’ll take a train to Jaipur for a 3-day orientation whilst living with a local Indian family. For the rest of the time you'll be based in Shiv, a small town in the Rajasthan desert.
Accommodation & Meals
The accommodation in Rajasthan is unique - clean and comfortable mud huts with an en-suite bathrooms! Meals are buffet style.
