Indonesia Experience
Indonesia As one of the largest archipelagos in the world, Indonesia, consisting of between 13,000 and 17,000 islands, is hugely diverse in culture, language and landscapes.
Our programme is based on the Island of Java, which has the highest concentration of people, but also has lush volcanic landscapes and magnificent temples. It is incredibly beautiful and will leave you with memories of friendly villages, dramatic landscapes and fascinating wildlife.
Weather Indonesia enjoys a hot and humid climate throughout the year. October to April is the wet season and during this time it will be hot, but the monsoon will bring heavy rain to the country. The period between May to September is dry and warm. Indonesia has an average temperature of 20C - 36C with humidity high all year round!
Free Time There is plenty of free time in the evenings and on Sundays for you to relax and explore the area. If you choose the teaching volunteer option your working week will run from Monday to Saturday.
If you book the adventure week you will have some free time so that you can rest before the next part of the trip. For participants who want to extend the programme for longer than 4 weeks you will have 2 or 3 free days before continuing onto the second month of the programme.
Getting There You will need to make travel arrangements to be in Java for the start of your programme. We recommend that you get a flight to Semarang Airport or a train to Semarang Tawang Train Station where you will be met and taken to your accommodation by a project representative.
