Indonesia is a paradise for wildlife lovers. The diversity of the islands’ plants and animals is outstanding and the rainforest in Borneo is now the only natural habitat for the Bornean orangutan, which is an endangered species.
Java is an island of contrasting scenery, cultures and religions. It is incredibly beautiful and will leave you with memories of friendly villages, dramatic landscapes and fascinating wildlife.
Island adventure locations
The programme is based on the islands of Java and Borneo in Indonesia. Indonesia is a perfect setting for nature-lovers, with its enormous range of plantlife and native animals. The island of Java has an impressive variety of scenery, cultures and religions. The rainforest area of Borneo is the only remaining natural habitat for the endangered Bornean orang-utan.
Weather
Indonesia enjoys a hot and humid climate throughout the year. October to April is the wet season and during this time it will be hot, but the monsoon will bring heavy rain to the country. The period between May to September is dry and warm. Indonesia has an average temperature of 20C - 36C with humidity high all year round!
Getting there
You will need to arrange a flight to Jakarta International airport, in Java, Indonesia. You will then be met at the airport and transferred to a hotel in central Jakarta.
