Volunteers with the children

Programme Details

You will have the opportunity to volunteer at a local school and orphanage.

In the mornings you can help out at the local school where you can get involved by teaching a subject of your choice, whether it is maths, drama, sports or any subject within the school curriculum. Please let us know at time of booking which subject you would like to teach. The school children are aged between 6 and 14 years old.

When the school closes for the day you will then be able to go to the orphanage. The children at the orphanage are aged between 3 and 14 years old. The orphanage aims to provide a ‘family’ environment for the children. You can help the children with their homework, reading, preparing dinner or just spending quality time with them and giving the much needed attention that they deserve. You can also teach any special skill that you may have, whether it is jewelry making, playing a musical instrument etc. If you’d prefer to just help at the school or just help at the orphanage, please let us know.

Project transfers to and from the accommodation are included within set times. You will receive a transfer at 8am and at the end of the day at 7.30pm. If you prefer to work at the school or orphanage only, then you will need to allow around US$5 per journey for your transfer. The transfer is around 20 to 30 minutes by car.
