Japan Japan, known as the land of the rising sun, is a fascinating country full of history, culture and high technology. Tokyo ranks as one of the most modern and fast-paced cities in the world and the local people always welcome tourists due to their fascination with Western cultures.
Niseko The ski resort of Niseko is home to our ski and snowboard instructor programmes. Niseko receives a staggering average of 14 metres of snow, which is more than the powder-rich resorts like Whistler and Blackcomb, who receive 11 metres on average by comparison. Because of this, students enjoy regular powder days and have the opportunity to go off-piste and on the backcountry ski areas at every given opportunity. This is a regular occurrence and a fact that is so often overlooked by ski and snowboard enthusiasts looking to choose where to go.
Resort Information The Niseko resort is broken up into 4 main ski areas, with a number of small villages near each as a base. Hirafu is the main village and where you will be based the programme. Although your course is likely to take you to all 4 areas, you will spend most of your training days in 2-3 of the areas. In total, there are 38 main lifts between the individual areas, there is over 45Km of groomed trails and the mountain is open for 12 and a half hours a day, with excellent lighting available for night skiing. Hirafu has one of the largest night-skiing areas in Japan.
How to Get There All students will need to arrive into Chitose International airport in Sapporo.
