A Typical Day on the Kenya Maasai Lion and Elephant Conservation Projects

Here is how a typical day in the life of a volunteer might take shape. Please note that your itineraries may differ from this, depending on the project needs and the number of other volunteers on the placement at the same time.

Please use this itinerary as an example guide only.

  • Early morning wake up and breakfast
  • Morning Activities: Tracking / monitoring of wildlife in the area
  • Camp Maintenance (roads, tents, camp security)
  • Lunch
  •  Afternoon siesta
  • Late afternoon tracking / monitoring of wildlife in the area
  • Dinner
  • Chill out time around the camp fire, chatting and day-to-day group feedback

There will be a lot of time spent out in the bush, either in vehicles or on foot. Therefore you must ensure you drink plenty of water and are fit enough to take part in the programme.
