Where is the Expedition based?
The Expedition will focus on schools surrounding our camp at Makongeni Village. The village is a small rural community and has been a major part of different community projects in Kenya for many years. With its bush location and only being 4kms from the Indian Ocean, it provides an idyllic setting for a Sports Development Programme.
What is not included in the programme?
- Insurance
- Tourist Visa (typically $50 US)
- Extra spending money for souvenirs etc
- Arrival & Departure fees (if applicable)
- Beverages
Can drinks be purchased at the Camp?
Yes, however, these are not included in the programme fee. You will be able to purchase them either at the camp or from the local village. The camp has a fridge for all volunteers' use.
What is the average age of the people at the Camp?
Most volunteers at the Camp are between the ages of 18 and 23.
What airport does the team fly to?
The Expedition Team will fly into Mombassa, which is traditionally a 9-10 hour flight from the UK.
