New Zealand New Zealand is a land of rare and amazing beauty - glacial mountains, ancient volcanoes, pristine beaches, lush rainforests, erupting geysers and boiling mud pools. It is famous for it’s exhilarating outdoor activities, among them hiking, jet boating, skiing, sky-diving, rafting, swimming with dolphins, whale watching and bungee jumping.
An essential stop on any round the world ticket or a destination in it’s own right – New Zealand is a must see at least once in a lifetime.
Auckland Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city with over a quarter of the whole population of the country residing within it. The city, particularly Waitemata Harbour is surrounded by at least 50 extinct volcanoes – a view of the built up downtown backed by these green undulations is best viewed from out on the water, a place that Aucklanders love to be!
Climate Auckland’s position in the north of the North Island gives it a climate that is fairly pleasant throughout the year and its coastal position means there is an ever present sea breeze. November through April is peak weather and therefore peak tourist season – beaches are crowded in January and February.
The months of November and April see slightly cooler weather, but fewer tourists… Winters are reasonably mild but rainy.
